Anotha One? DJ Khaled Shows Interest in Possible NASCAR Ownership

Major Key alert!

After NASCAR announced the 66th running of the Daytona 500 would be postponed in a press conference on Sunday, DJ Khaled, who was scheduled to be the honorary flagman for Sunday’s race, was asked if he would ever consider being an owner or partial owner of a NASCAR team. Turns out, he’s into the idea.

“Absolutely I would love to be a team owner,” Khaled told the press corp. “Hopefully, to have a ‘We The Best’ car one day.”

We The Best is not only one of Khaled’s signature slogans it’s also the name of his label founded in 2010.

Khaled was supposed to perform a pre-race concert alongside Trackhouse’s partial owner and rapper Pitbull.

Due to rain, the race was pushed to Monday and the concert was canceled. Pitbull has entered into a gentleman’s agreement to come back and perform before the 2025 Daytona 500. It is unconfirmed if Khaled will join ‘Mr. Worldwide’ next year.

The Trackhouse partial owner has been seen more and more frequently on the circuit in support of his drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain.

Pitbull took off his glasses and hat to let the room know he was serious when he confirmed that he would return to perform next year.

“Old School,” Pitbull said. “No contract. No nothing. Just [a] handshake. Mano a Mano, I will be here for ‘25.”

With the excitement felt around a race weekend, it shouldn’t be hard to convince Khaled to come back. Outside of his friend Pitbull, Khaled gave a shout-out to the other celebrity team owner to join the sport in recent years, 6-time NBA champion Michael Jordan.

Jordan is on site this weekend to support his 23XI Racing drivers Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace.

“To see all of the greats,” Khaled continued. “Look at Michael Jordan and the beautiful things that he’s doing and all the other team owners. So one day God-willing I would have a ‘We The Best’ car out there bringing home a trophy.”
