We’re roughly six weeks away from the start of the 2024 NFL season. Now that the schedules have been released everyone can start making plans and looking forward to certain games. This goes for players as much as anyone else.
New York Jets’ third-year running back Breece Hall certainly has feelings about one game, anyway. He was recently asked about the Jets Week 1 meeting with the San Francisco 49ers and if he’s spoken to former Iowa State QB Brock Purdy since the matchup was announced.
“Na, I haven’t yet. Me and him are actually overly competitive with each other, so even in college when we played Madden,” Hall explained, “whoever won, we wouldn’t talk to each other for the rest of the day. So that’s how it’s going to be until after the game.”
Another fun fact mentioned in the same presser that many fans might not have known is that Hall is the cousin of former 49ers RB Roger Craig. A four-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time Super Bowl winner, Craig played eight years in San Francisco. He was known for his distinct high-knee running style.
This coming season’s opening Monday Night Football game on Sept. 9 should be quite the spectacle when Hall, Aaron Rodgers and the Jets invade Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The Jets are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 and what better way to do it than by beating the defending NFC champions in their home stadium.
Should that happen Hall will have earned his bragging rights over Purdy and Craig for the next few years.
