The final opportunity for high school prospects to lock up scholarships and formally sign National Letters of Intent took center stage on Wednesday during the traditional National Signing Day. A vast majority of the nation’s top players already made their college decisions in December, but a number of prospects, including some notable names, put pen to paper with just over a month until spring practice begins.
The early signing period may shape the way the Class of 2024 looks across the country, but the traditional National Signing Day is the cherry on top, particularly for some of the nation’s top teams. It should be no surprise, then, that the SEC and Big Ten were the day’s biggest winners with eight of the top 10, and 20 of the top 25, classes for the 2024 cycle. That includes the additions of programs like Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and USC — all of which will be joining one of those two leagues this summer.
