Flag football is being added to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, and Pat McAfee believes he knows the perfect person to coach the United States team: two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning.
During Thursday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” McAfee petitioned Manning to take the job (though he has no authority to make that hiring decision.)
“You’re a guy, your rookie year, you threw the most picks in history,” McAfee said. “You learn the game differently. You definitely are the…congratulations to coach of the United States flag football team in the 2028 Olympics, Peyton Manning.”
Though he seemed intrigued by the possibility of coaching in the 2028 Olympics, Manning was quick to point out his record as a flag football coach, having lost twice to his brother Eli during the flag football portion of the Pro Bowl games.
“I was probably a better coach of our youth flag football team here in Denver than I’d been at the Pro Bowl,” Manning said. “I’m 0-2 as the Pro Bowl coach to Eli. … I’d like to be a coach on [the U.S.] team. There’s no way I’m getting picked now that Eli’s beat me twice.”
To be fair, Eli has much more flag football experience than Peyton does.
