After turning down an offer from the Los Angeles Lakers, UConn head coach Dan Hurley will never go hungry in the state of Connecticut again.

J. Timothy’s Taverne in Plainville, Connecticut, took to social media to let Hurley know that he can pop in at any time for free wings for life:

J. Timothy’s Taverne proclaims itself to be the creator of “dirt wings,” which are double-fried and double-sauced to create more crispiness and caramelization. Hurley will have his choice of five different delicious wing flavors at his disposal whenever he has a craving.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Hurley rejected a six-year, $70 million offer from the Lakers to pursue a third straight national championship with the Huskies. The contract reportedly would’ve made Hurley one of the six highest-paid coaches in the NBA.

Wojnarowski further explained that despite being “swept away” by “the Lakers courtship and vision for him,” Hurley “ultimately couldn’t walk away from a chance to make history and pursue a third straight NCAA title.” The 51-year-old is reportedly engaged in contract talks with UConn that “will continue.”

Jeff Goodman of the Field of 68 added that Hurley has been offered a six-year, $50 million extension from UConn, but it is currently “on the table” as negotiations are ongoing.

However, the one thing for certain is that none of the cash Hurley receives in his upcoming deal will have to go toward the wings at J. Timothy Taverne.
